What is AENC?

 

Established in 1955, Association Executives of North Carolina (AENC) is committed to providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to help you develop your fullest potential and foster the recognition and respect of the association management profession. Members include CEOs and staff of associations across North Carolina, as well as representatives from the association service and hospitality industries.

Networking Opportunities

Learn from your peers and make connections with others who face the same challenges you face. Build relationships with suppliers and service providers and do business with someone you know and trust.

 

Luncheons

AENC hosts four luncheon meetings per year that are free to members (as long as you register in advance). Luncheons feature speakers on a variety of topics, and are excellent networking opportunities.

 

Roundtables - Networking and Learning Opportunities

AENC facilitates roundtables for the following groups: Association CEOs, Meeting Planners, CVB representatives and Affiliate members.

 

CEO/ Association Management Forums

The association environment is turbulent, demanding, and full of obstacles, but you are not alone. AENC provides forums for association executives and managers to share and generate ideas for problems unique to associations.

 

Trade Show

Planners and association executives will find a wide array of hotels, conference centers, and association service vendors all under one roof! This show attracts hundreds of meeting planners and association executives looking for the latest services and products vendors have to offer.

 

Golf Outing

AENC hosts an annual golf tournament in the Spring. Regardless of your skill level, you can enjoy a fun-filled day networking and winning prizes on the greens.

 

Silent Auction

The auction gives you a chance to socialize with your peers while shopping for great deals on getaways and other fantastic gift items. Best of all, proceeds go towards member scholarships for which you can apply.

 

Legislative Reception

This gala event occurs in odd-numbered years at the beginning of each long session. AENC and reception sponsors invite the Governor, NC legislators, Cabinet officials, Supreme Court justices, and others to this well-attended, premier reception to mix and mingle.

To enhance your professional growth, AENC provides quality educational offerings for all skill and experience levels.

 

Committee Involvement

Gain valuable team and committee work experience by volunteering for any of our six committees. Get a first-hand look at committee bureaucracy and board structures as an active participant.

 

Professional Designations/CAE Study Groups

AENC's CAE Study Group meets on a periodic basis to review the material on the test and provide support to ensure you're fully prepared for this important examination. A number of AENC members with the CAE designation are happy to serve as mentors.

 

Lending Library

AENC maintains a library of books relating to association management available for members to borrow at no cost. Contact the AENC office for additional information.

AENC Resource Guide/ Member Directory

Published annually in the Fall, this incredible resource offers information including profiles on over 150 associations, an extensive listing of our members' meeting facilities, listings of other professionals specializing in your skills, dozens of city profiles and a directory of members and organizations.

 

Success by Association, AENC Newsletter

Published six times each year, the AENC newsletter will help you keep up on important topics, trends, and technology in the association arena.

 

E-News Updates

Weekly updates are sent to all members via email, keeping you informed about AENC activities and other issues relating to association management.
