Jim Thompson, CAE, IOM, Executive Director

Jim joined AENC in September 2005 with seven years of experience in non-profit management, most recently serving as Director of Business Development for the N.C. Association of REALTORS® in Greensboro. Jim graduated from UNC-Greensboro with degrees in English and Political Science. He has also earned the Certified Association Executive designation, and has graduated from the U.S. Chamber's Institute for Organization Management. Jim and his wife Hollyn have a five-year-old son named Nelson, and a baby girl named Lily, born in December 2006.

Jovita joined AENC in July of 2009 bringing more than 20 years of experience in non-profit association management, having served as Executive Vice President of the Carolinas Association of Professional Insurance Agents and, most recently, as Vice President of Administration for the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina. Jovita graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, with a degree in International Relations and Political Science. She served as president of AENC in 1992-93. Jovita and her husband, Bill Lovin, owner of Marine Grafics, have traveled the world diving and producing underwater films including the PBS series, Return to the Sea.

We are pleased to announce that we now have a full time advertising and marketing representative, Sue Damon. Some of you might have met Sue when she was working as an Advertising Account Manager with Association News. Sue is bringing with her 13 years of association advertising experience. You will be seeing many changes in both Success By Association, and on our website.
