Alex Baltzegar

Alex Baltzegar is the Executive Director for the North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation. He is a passionate advocate for free enterprise with a diverse background in political strategy, campaign management, and non-profit work. He has managed and worked on over a dozen campaigns, including U.S. Congressional, statewide, and state legislative races. Alex also served as a staffer in both the North Carolina Senate and House of Representatives, before working in political media as a statehouse reporter for the Carolina Journal.

At the NCFREE, Alex is focused on empowering business leaders by providing them with the political intelligence and strategic resources necessary to engage effectively in the legislative process. His unwavering belief in NCFREE’s mission is driven by the conviction that business leaders play a pivotal role in promoting policies that limit government intervention and support free enterprise.

Alex double-majored in Economics and Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a graduate of the EA Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders. He resides in Apex, North Carolina, with his wife, Lauren, and their dog, Buckley, where they enjoy biking the Tobacco Trail, dining in downtown Apex, and rooting on the Tar Heels.
