HYBRID TECHNOLOGY FOR CONFERENCES MADE SIMPLE - 10:00am-11:00am
Presenter: Brian McArtan, Owner, EZAV

As a global pandemic burst on to the scene last year, it introduced new ways to facilitate meetings and events through virtual components. Even before the pandemic, AV for events can be complex and overwhelming so now, more than ever, we need clarity to overcome some of the challenges surrounding hybrid and virtual events. What’s possible? How does this technology change the way we plan for events? What does it cost? There are so many questions that we’ll focus on as a part of our session on Hybrid Technology for Conferences to make it just a little easier.

Brian McArtan is an experienced event professional, association executive and entrepreneur. Driven by the need to bring communities together, he takes pride in providing the best possible experience for attendees, planners, and administrators. As the CEO of Your Conference Connection and EZ Audio Visual, and the Executive Director of the International Db2 User Group, his unique experience in our industry brings a multidimensional approach to managing the complexities of the challenges we all face in 2021.

WHAT’S THE RIGHT THING TO DO?  ETHICALLY, MORALLY, LEGALLY 11:20am-12:20pm
Presenter: Linda Stinson, Partner, RLS Focused Solutions

We have all struggled with this question in both our personal and professional interactions. This session will be very interactive and we encourage your full participation. We will explore real-life situations that you as leaders, managers, and staff members have experienced. The current pandemic has caused us all to think somewhat differently about the “right thing” and we will discuss that also. Bring your challenges, questions, opinions to this session and share with your colleagues and get different points of view so you can decide for yourself “What’s the Right Thing to Do”.

Linda Stinson is a Business Coach, Facilitator, and Speaker and a partner in RLS Focused Solutions. She has helped businesses and organizations develop and implement an effective strategic plan; provided leadership development for executives and key managers; developed entrepreneurial leadership; improved communications among staff, boards of directors, and stakeholders; and achieved measurable improved results.
She helps her clients better understand their current situation, define their future vision, develop a process for growth, and participate in that process. As a coach, she has partnered with individuals and organizations to help them achieve higher levels of success.

I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS! DEALING WITH CONTSTANT CHANGE IN THE WORKPLACE 1:10pm-2:10pm
Presenter: Mike Collins, Owner, The Perfect Workday Company

Won’t it stop?! The past year has been a grind of constant change; before you can assimilate one change another comes along. The phenomenon has long been known as “Repetitive Change Syndrome (RCS)."
Moving through change, and especially leading in times of change, takes time and energy; it’s extremely stressful. In “I Didn’t Sign On For This! Dealing With Constant Change In the Workplace,” you will learn:
- How to recognize the change effects on you and the organization
- Why we resist change and how to lower resistance
- How to more easily embrace and work within the change
- How to use practical time and management strategies to better deal with the stress of change.
- How to move on to the new reality
Attendees often comment they had a lot of “Aha!” moments and frequently say, “I needed this right now in my life…and for more than just work.”
Change isn’t going to slow down; if anything, it’s going to speed up. Accepting and addressing change isn’t complicated, it’s just hard; this program makes it easier.

Mike Collins is president of The Perfect Workday Company, an information company based in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina. He presents over 100 programs a year for organizations such as The American Academy of Family Physicians, American Express, Pepsi-Cola and The John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School and Center at Ft. Bragg. His programs are consistently rated Excellent.
Collins is the author of five books including The Perfect Workday Book, The Best Small Business to Start Right Now! and Thoughts From a Life On the Run. He is the producer of the video, Care for the Caregiver, winner of a national Caregiver Friendly Award from Today's Caregiver magazine.
