David Phillips

Equal parts educator and instigator, David Phillips has spent his career helping leaders challenge how they see and think. He facilitates strategy sessions, coaches senior leaders, and guides teams through the kind of co-creative problem-solving that conventional thinking often overlooks.

David brings that same orientation to this workshop. The fight for relevance isn't new, but the pace at which value erodes quietly, before the signals become undeniable, is accelerating. His role here isn't to tell you what's at risk in your association. It's to create the conditions for you and your peers to figure that out together, and leave with something you can actually use.

Before founding Faster Glass in 2010, David spent six years at Bank of America, where technology, innovation, and Human-Centered Design collided — and occasionally collaborated. Before that, he built his career across the U.S. Air Force, public education, and public accounting: worlds that don't usually talk to each other, and exactly the kind of dot-collecting that makes him effective at helping others connect their own.

Based in Charlotte, David is also a husband, father, musician, photographer, and cyclist, even as he's often reminded of my amateur status in all five endeavors.
