President

NC Chamber

Professional Bio

Meredith serves as Senior VP of external affairs for NC Chamber and President of NC Chamber Foundation. Her role combines leadership of the Foundation’s nonpartisan research, community engagement, and long-range economic initiatives with oversight of the Chamber’s communications and marketing strategy. She leads a team dedicated to amplifying the voices of NC businesses—elevating member organizations and leaders, keeping the business community informed on policy and events that impact their operations, and promoting their priorities to the public and elected officials.
Appointed president of the NC Chamber Foundation in April ‘22, she directs outcome-based initiatives aligned with NC Leads, the Foundation’s strategic framework focused on 3 pillars: education and talent supply, competitive business climate, and infrastructure and growth leadership. In ‘23, she successfully led and executed the NC Leads fundraising campaign, securing $7.68 million to support the implementation of the Foundation’s five-year strategic plan.
Native of Rocky Mount, Meredith’s early experience working in her family’s business shaped her understanding of the vital role businesses play in creating opportunity and strengthening communities.
Prior to rejoining the Chamber, she spent seven years at Duke Energy, where she led communications and engagement strategy for the company’s NC operations, including corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, executive positioning, and serving as company spokesperson. From ’11-‘15, she directed communications for both the NC Chamber and NC Chamber Foundation.
Deeply engaged in her community and NC’s economic future, Meredith serves on the Board for Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and co-chaired NC Institute of Medicine’s Essentials for Childhood update committee, among other committees and advisory groups. Meredith volunteers regularly at church and her daughters’ school and resides in Raleigh with her husband, Charles, and 2 daughters.
