Professional Bio
With two decades of experience in association management and event strategy, Melissa brings unmatched expertise, professionalism, and dedication to every client she serves. Since joining THM in 2005, Melissa has partnered with numerous professional associations to elevate their operations, strengthen member engagement, and deliver exceptional conferences and events.
A proud graduate of North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Communications (Public Relations concentration), Melissa began her career in hospitality with the Hilton Family, gaining firsthand insight into the service side of the meetings industry. She later expanded her portfolio by managing large-scale motivational conferences for audiences of up to 15,000, giving her a strong foundation in logistics, leadership, and attendee experience.
Melissa is deeply committed to advancing the association community. She is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Association Executives of North Carolina (AENC), where she currently serves as President-Elect and will proudly lead as President in 2026–2027.
Beyond her professional achievements, Melissa is passionate about giving back. She volunteers with Claire’s Army, helping organize their signature annual gala in support of families facing pediatric cancer.
When she’s not planning high-impact meetings or helping associations grow, Melissa enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and keeping up with her twin teenage daughters, Haley and Natalie.
