Jamie Rawls

Jamie grew up in the Hampton Roads area and graduated from Christopher Newport University with a degree in Leisure Studies and a concentration in commercial tourism. During her senior year she interned at the Hampton Convention & Visitors Bureau and upon graduating was hired as a Group Sales Manager. While there she was the top producer for multiple years and honed her skills as a hospitality professional. She was a dedicated sales force during the planning, construction, and opening of the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
She left Hampton and worked for the Chesapeake Convention & Visitors Bureau and was instrumental in furthering their meetings & conventions efforts. She then moved to the Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau where she again worked with large scale meetings & conventions. After 5 years with the Virginia Beach CVB she left and became the Director of an event center. There she furthered her knowledge of the hospitality industry in the fields of management, operations, and human resources.
After successfully opening the Center and establishing a foundation for success, she decided to return to the Virginia Beach CVB where she is currently the senior member of the sales team with over 25 years of experience.
She earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2004 and has been a member of VSAE for several years. She currently serves on the Community Service committee and is the Chair for the Associate Member SIG. A lifelong learner, she is also a member of the 2023 Association Leadership Virginia (ALV) class.

Jamie’s greatest blessings in life are her family. She is married to her husband Mark and has two sons; Preston and Dawson.
