Professional Bio
Dr. Christine Shaefer brings a diverse background to her facilitations of dynamic learning experiences. She blends a BA in English/Communications from Pace University, a MA in Theatre & Drama from University of WI-Madison, and a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Marian University with 25 years of work and leadership across for-profit, not-for-profit, and public sectors. She sees life through a strengths-based frame and urges individuals and organizations to accentuate the positive.
Previously holding the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives and completing the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as well as Leadership-Fox Cities, Christine served as the Executive Vice President of a non-profit membership association prior to joining the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s Federal Executive Institute (FEI).
During her nearly ten years at FEI, Dr. Shaefer served as the Program Director and then Faculty Chair for an extensive portfolio of leader development offerings for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Her work took her to five continents in service to USAID’s diverse and global workforce. Additionally, while at FEI, Christine lead a variety of planning and team building retreats as well as served as a coach to government executives.
As a freelancer, she has presented numerous board, volunteer and leader development programs, planning sessions, and spokesperson trainings. She is certified in the facilitation of numerous assessments as well as Immunity to Change mapping. She also holds a coaching certification and a certification in the Fundamentals of Neurodiversity.
